Terry Mohajir set us back 20 years

The more i think about it the more I believe this. He sold us a bill of goods on his being an alumni but he didn't have the balls to do what was needed for our athletic programs. He refused to fire Blake Anderson. He hired Mike Balado and that was an absolute train wreck then he refused to hire him. He hired Des Rogers for womens basketball and that is an entire dumpster fire right now. He didn't give a damn enough about baseball to do anything there. We hear the current staff and media members talking about the financial issues within the department. All of this combined set the entire athletic department back while he packed his shit and moved on when he knew he couldn't hang around anymore.

A-State Basketball Basketball scheduling note

Arkansas State head coach Bryan Hodgson mentioned last night at the Howl on Wheels stop in Little Rock that they are working on this year’s schedule.

One thing he mentioned is that he and Calipari have spoken about an Arkansas State vs Arkansas match up for this year.

I spoke with Jackson Collier from the Arkansas Rivals site and he did some checking on his end, and was able to confirm through Arkansas sources that they expect this deal to be done soon.

Hodgson did not give a time line for an announcement, but I feel like this is very close to happening with Hodgson being willing to speak about it in public.

Howl on Wheels - Little Rock

Here’s a few news and notes from the Howl on Wheels stop in Little Rock

Jeff Purinton said that they are working on some facility upgrades and mentioned baseball, something fans have been asking about. He mentioned that they are working on trying to put turf down during the offseason, but there are other facility upgrades that they are planning for, and they are preparing to release a master plan soon.

Bryan Hodgson said that the Sun Belt Conference wants all conference schools to have more home games, with 13 mandatory home games this season and moving to 14 next year.

He said scheduling has been harder this year due to the success they had this past season. Some of the P5 schools that were happy to schedule the team last year are not so willing to do so this year.

Hodgson said he expects Terrance Ford to come right in and fill in for Caleb Fields. He mentioned that taking the year to learn how to run things helped him tremendously.

Butch Jones said the football team will report on Monday night for summer workouts. He’s excited about the competition at QB this summer and heading into fall camp, but he’s also excited about the grown Jaylen Raynor has shown.

He also mentioned this is becoming more of a player led team versus a coach led team, and they’re excited about the upcoming season.

I’ll have more later!

NIL, the NCAA, and Group of 5 schools

A good piece from Yahoo Sports this morning regarding the NIL, NCAA, and G5 schools.

“We are a farm system,” said Liberty coach Jamey Chadwell. “No matter who you are, you are going to have to try hard to hold on to your top players. That gets taxing. We are taking the approach that if a freshman plays and he does well, we are only going to have him for one more year.”

5-0

Tuesday night watching the Redwolves run rule UAPB my crew and I were discussing how good our baseball team looked. I said we haven’t really had a good example with Omaha and UAPB. I said Ole Miss should give us somewhat of an indication of what our team looks like. I think this team has the potential to be special. Wrecked Ole Miss home opener! Wolves up!

Baseball!!!!

When was the last time we started off 4-0? I feel like our university is actually starting to take baseball seriously. Improvements supposedly at the top of the list on the new budget. They have already improved the game day experience in my opinion. I am a season ticket holder and this year just has a different feel to it. The concession stand seems to have more options this year nothing major but it is still better. There is beer available now to the entire stadium. I really hope we are on the right path with our baseball program. Valley view highschool is one of the most D1 baseball producing programs in the state and country. No reason our baseball team should be bottom of the barrel. I really feel this new administration is working to fix that. I hope to see you all at the stadium at the next home game!
