I just got off of the weekly Sun Belt Teleconference. As always, here's some news and notes from Blake Anderson.

  • Warren Wand has a sprained ankle. It is 50/50 on if he plays or not.
  • Look for Silky White, Jamal Jones, and Chauncey Mason to get the reps if Wand can't go.
  • There is a possibility Armond Weh-Weh could get some snaps this week at RB.
  • Running back by committee if Warren can't go.
  • The team knows this is a rivalry game and doesn't need extra motivation.
  • They watched the film of last year's game, so the team knows what this game means.
  • This is a game the team wants to win due to the rivalry.
  • Anderson has been impressed with the way the offensive line has been playing in recent weeks.
  • The interior offensive linemen have really stepped up and played well.
  • The defense is starting to settle in and do their thing.
  • We know what Ja'Von and Caleb Caston can do, so it's good to see William Bradley-King and others step up.
  • A-State has one of the best pass rushes in the country.
  • A-State has one of the best pass rusher in the country in Ja'Von.
  • It's good to see the defense getting to the QB and creating stops in the backfield.
  • Defensive line is beginning to allow the secondary to pin their ears back and go for turnovers again.
  • It's great to get turnovers and points off of turnovers again.
  • Saturday night's game was very physical. Several guys with bumps and bruises.
  • Lafayette is going to have size and speed.
  • Lafayette is going to be physical.
  • Quick turnaround with this game, but the team knows what is on the line and looks forward to playing their rival.
Something to note. Anderson noted the game against Coastal was very physical. I heard several players on the field after the game say they were chop blocking all night, and that took a toll on the team.
